Downrocks is the name that include one of the musical projects of Kapi, a producer, graffiti writer, cultural agitator, and figure from Barcelona (Spain) who has been involved in the local (and national) hip-hop culture since its beginnings in the 80s.
Downrocks is the branch that preserves the musical trends of the early days of hip-hop, what was later baptized as the genre ELECTRO. This style of music had its beginnings in the Spanish industry in the late 90s when several producers with the same profile as Kapi started joining forces to start releasing their music and join the phenomenon that had been growing in Northern Europe and some cities in the USA like Detroit and Miami for a few years.
